What Is Mythril?

Mythril is a metal of fantasy. Brought to life in J. R. R. Tolkien's stories of Middle-Earth. It has since been used in many stories of fantasy and role playing games. It has more than one spelling: Mithril is how Tolkien spelled, however it has also been spelled mythril and mithral. We prefer Mythril. Mythril was described as having the appearance of silver, stronger than steel and light as a feather. Tolkien first wrote of it in "The Lord of the Rings", it was retrospectively refered to in the second revised edition of "The Hobbit" in 1966. In the first edition in 1937, the mail shirt given to Bilbo Baggins was described as being made of "silvered steel". This shirt was taken on Bilbo's adventures with the dwarves from Smaug's treasure given to him by Thorin Oakenshield. It was later handed down to Frodo Baggins and saved him from death by an orc spear in the Chamber of Mazarbul. It also saved his life three other times, 2 from orc arrows, once escaping from Moria and the other when crossing the River Anduin. And it saved his life again when Saruman stabbed him with a knife.

With this reputation of protection and I being such a fan of Tolkien, Mythril Security made perfect sense.

Being a large fan of Tolkien I could spend much more time talking about mythril, however, I will end it here. If you are curious to read more Tolkien has writen some very good books. Some I have read are "Smith of Wootton Major and Farmer Giles of Ham", "The Hobbit" (several different versions), "The Fellowship of the Ring" "The Two Towers", "The Return of the King", and "The Silmarillion" which is pretty much a laid out history of Tolkiens "world". Some consider it rather dry reading.
